Sunset @ Osaka (Kansai, Japan Trip 2012, Day 5)

After visiting the interesting ramen museum, we went shopping at the shopping streets, Nakasaki-cho in Umeda. This area is full of old town houses and row houses, giving you a sense of retro nostalgic feel in the modern Umeda area. This is a hot favourite shopping area for the youth as there are many interesting restaurants, cafes and shops selling unique clothing. It is similar to Kang QingLong Neighbourhood (康青龙街区) in Taipei.

We finished shopping in the evening and headed towards the Umeda Sky Building at the core of Umeda area. We wanted to catch the spectacular sunset at the open-air floating garden on the rooftop. On our way up, we saw many couples as the floating garden is one of the many “sacred places of romance” in Japan. The idea is cheesy but nevertheless, it’s quite an experience to catch the sunset in an open-air rooftop of a high-rise building.
